Bubbles

Bubbles!  This Focal is fabulous.  It is made up of many spherical bubbles to create an interesting surface for decoration. Each bubble is a sphere that fits into the spheres next to it.  There are no flat spots that would make it look pressed, all the rounds are either complete, or it blends into it's neighbor.  The shape is very user friendly, and fills out nicely.

We have provided a PDF tutorial for this press.  In addition, we think it's fun to sketch out the designs for each of the bubbles.  If you like to doodle your designs ahead of time, here is a fun sheet for you to print and create with!

Here is a comparison with all 3 sizes of bubbles:

Bubble Comparison

Large measures:

24.5mm (1") x 13mm thick.  The thickness measurement is at the thickest point which is that really large bubble in the middle.  The smaller bubbles that are 3 together on the edge are 5mm thick, and the mandrel runs through one bubble that is 7mm thick and one that is 10mm thick.

We recommend using a 1/16th or 5/64th mandrel with this tool, but you may select to modify for a 3/32nd if you wish.

Large+ measures:

32mm (1.25") x 16mm thick.  The thickness measurement is at the thickest point which is that really large bubble in the middle.  The smallest bubbles that are 3 together on the edge are 7mm thick, and the mandrel runs through one bubble that is 9mm thick and one that is 12mm thick.

We recommend using a 1/16th or 5/64th mandrel with this tool, but you may select to modify for a 3/32nd if you wish.

XLarge measures:

38 mm (1.5") x 19mm thick.  The thickness measurement is at the thickest point which is that really large bubble in the middle.  The smaller bubbles that are 3 together on the edge are 7mm thick, and the mandrel runs through one bubble that is 15mm thick and one that is 10mm thick.

Note for XLarge: The mandrel groove is perfect for a 3/32nd mandrel and we do not recommend using a smaller mandrel due to the volume of glass  you are using.
