Some lampworkers prefer stainless to graphite because some glasses, especially some blacks and silvers react or pit when marvered with graphite. These stainless steel paddles should not do that. They will also not chip or break when dropped, as graphite can easily do. This paddle has a 5/32" slot to assist in making disk beads, or for marvering in close to the mandrel. The slot will easily accommodate a 1/16, 5/64 or 3/32 mandrel. If you are using 1/8 mandrels, please contact me for possible alterations.
