Bead caps help you frame focal beads and provide a way to merge many seed bead strands into one. These bead cap mandrels allow you to make them from glass yourself. Remarkably easy to use, just form a bead near the end of the ball next to the mandrel. Then heat and let the glass drape over the ball. See the directions for more details. This mandrel has a 5/8", or 16mm, diameter ball. The inner diameter of finished bead caps will be similarly sized. The ball is positioned 1" back from the end of the rod to allow you room to play.
