About Us
ZooziiTools are made by Amy Ouellette and her Dad, Carl Waterhouse. I'm Amy. I have been a lampworker for 10+ years. I have enjoyed working with glass and am always trying to find new canvases for my artwork. ZooziiTools were born out of that focus. I wanted to create a tool that would allow the lampworker the opportunity to concentrate on the artistic expression on the surface of the bead, while still having a consistent, visually pleasing, and comfortable to wear shape. I believe that tools are a means to an end, and not the end, itself. The tools in the Zoozii line, will always stay true to that philosophy.
Carl Waterhouse has been a machinist and engineer for over 40 years. He has a great eye for precision and design, which has really helped make the Zoozii line of tools stand out as a very user friendly and well constructed tool. Carl takes the ideas in my head and brings them to reality. It has been great to have the opportunity to work with my father so closely on a project we are both excited about.
Walter has been making tools for Zoozii's since day one. His flexibility and willingness to work with me when all I had was a lot of enthusaism and a CAD drawing, allowed us to start down a very fun path of a full line of tools. Walter has been a machinist for 25+ years.
FAQ:
Why don't you offer free shipping? Free shipping is not free. If a company offers free shipping it is in their price somewhere. As a consumer I want to pay for my products and pay for my shipping and know what I'm paying for both. As a business owner I want people to have that same information, so they are making an informed decision about their order. If I tack on $5.00 per tool to cover the shipping costs, then you are paying that no matter how many tools you order. If you order 4 tools you have now paid $20.00 for shipping, even if I called it free. Now if you bought one tool, paid $5.00 you probably paid about what you should have, but if you bought the 4 tools you grossly overpaid in shipping fees. I really feel that having the customer pay for their actual costs saves the customer money. I would change the policy if I really thought I could provide you with a better price. We work very hard to keep our prices fair, and despite the fact metal has fluctuated greatly with the stock market, we have not passed that cost on to you. We value our customers, we understand the need to know you are getting the best price you can for what you buy and we honestly feel we are doing that. We hope you agree and are pleased with your product, service and the cost involved in making a tool purchase.
Where did the company name come from?
I had an English Springer Spaniel and her nickname was Zoozii. It seemed like a fun word so I went with it.
How do you pronounce your company name?
Zoo (like where the animals hang out) Zii (Zee) The two i's next to each other makes a long e sound like the video game system Wii.
